Angkor Wat has been named the number one tourist attraction in Asia, officially announced as the winner of the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards, which are considered the best places to visit in 2025. This was announced by the CAMBODIA TOURISM BOARD.
The Asia Top Attractions Awards are an award that celebrates the most attractive tourist destinations in Asia, both natural and man-made, as voted by tourists who have visited the country.
Angkor Wat was voted by 49,300 travelers on Tripadvisor.com, confirming Angkor Wat’s reputation as a must-see destination for tourists around the world. Bayon Temple also ranked 17th, voted by over 20,800 travelers on Tripadvisor.com. Cambodia has once again been recognized as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
In addition to winning the Asia Top Attractions award, Cambodia has also achieved international recognition in several other Tripadvisor awards categories. Among them, Siem Reap Province ranked 5th among the best places in Asia for tourists to visit and 10th among the world’s cultural destinations, as well as 14th among the best places to visit in the world and 15th best place for Tripadvisor’s 25th anniversary.
This reaffirms Siem Reap Province’s reputation and strength as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Asia and the world, as well as its recognition for its World Heritage Sites, museums and ancient sculptures, which offer visitors a rich and unforgettable cultural experience.
In addition, Phnom Penh also ranked 17th among the most popular tourist destinations and 18th among the best tourist destinations in Asia. This demonstrates Phnom Penh’s attractiveness and diverse tourism activities for international tourists.
The Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best Places of the Year 2025 recognize the highest ratings of excellence for travel destinations around the world. The awards are given only to tourist destinations, hotels, restaurants and attractions that have received high ratings from the Tripadvisor user community over the past 12 months. Of the more than 8 million listings worldwide, less than 1 percent are included in this list.
