Kim Jong Un visited the Special Operations Training Base under the General Staff of the Korean People’s Army and learned about the training conditions of the soldiers

Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, visited the Special Operations Training Base under the direct control of the Korean People’s Army General Staff on August 27 and learned about the training of the sniper sub-units and special operations sub-units.

He was accompanied by Comrade Jo Chun Ryong, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Comrade Kim Jong Sik, First Vice Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and other key officials of the Party Central Committee.

Comrade Kim Jong Un was greeted on-site by Comrade No Kwang Chol, Minister of National Defense of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Comrade Ri Yong Gil, Chief of the General Staff of the Korean People’s Army.

At the training base, Comrade Kim Jong Un met with snipers and special operations forces soldiers organized for special missions and learned about the weapons and equipment equipped by the sub-units and their training practices.

Comrade Kim Jong Un learned about the new sniper rifle being produced and supplied to units.

Comrade Kim Jong Un praised the long-range, high-precision sniping characteristics and superiority of the new sniper rifle, designed and developed this year by our Academy of Defense Science in our own way to enhance the weapon’s ergonomic performance and the tactical mobility of snipers. He expressed satisfaction, saying it was a great joy for our units to possess this new-generation sniper weapon.

Comrade Kim Jong Un stated that the role of snipers in the combat power of units is extremely important. He stated that snipers are specially selected soldiers prepared for independent and proactive military action, like hunters who kill enemy soldiers with their unerring sniping skills on the battlefield. He also stated that significantly strengthening special operations forces and specialized sniper forces will become a key task in building our armed forces.

Comrade Kim Jong Un stated that the Party’s Central Military Commission will consider organizing a Central Sniper Training Center directly under the General Staff.

Comrade Kim Jong Un stated that concentration and high observation skills are essential qualifications for snipers. He emphasized the need to provide training in various aspects of environmental awareness and environmental familiarization to enhance their concentration, endurance, and observation skills. He also instructed that sound training methods should be established to teach sniper teams and sub-units how to select sniper targets during attack and defense, how to conceal and maneuver, how to select and establish firing positions, how to conduct observation using various equipment, how to conduct long-range precision fire, and how to achieve accurate targeting. Furthermore, scientific specialized training should be intensified to enhance practical combat capabilities.

Comrade Kim Jong Un instructed the Ministry of National Defense to produce high-quality camouflage uniforms, to be supplied to sniper sub-units starting this year, tailored to the conditions and seasonal characteristics of their mission areas.

Comrade Kim Jong Un stated that thoroughly implementing the Party’s policies of training revolution, ideological revolution, and equipment revolution to further arm our special operations forces as the core force for waging war and as the most powerful combat unit is the most urgent task in our army’s war preparations at present.

Comrade Kim Jong Un stated that in order to secure an absolute advantage on the battlefield, where powerful military equipment is being competitively developed and introduced, unrivaled by any other country’s special operations forces, we must actively accelerate the modernization of our military equipment, continuously explore and apply our own innovative tactics and combat strategies, and rigorously train our soldiers in them.

Comrade Kim Jong Un supervised the live-fire training of a sniper sub-unit.

Comrade Kim Jong Un delightedly observed the combatants’ training, demonstrating their 100% accurate marksmanship, and remarked that they were truly skilled marksmen. He added that no enemy would survive once they fell into the sights of our soldiers.

Comrade Kim Jong Un then observed the comprehensive special physical training of the combatants of the Special Operations Forces.

The soldiers participating in the training fully demonstrated their physical and technical prowess, solidly preparing themselves to become an invincible combat unit and the vanguard of the revolutionary strong army.

Comrade Kim Jong Un highly praised the unwavering ideology and spirit of the combatants, who uphold the Party’s ideology of building special operations forces, always keep the battlefield in their hearts, and single-mindedly strive to fulfill their noble mission and duty before the country and the people. He embraced them in his loving arms and took a meaningful commemorative photo with them.

As the commemorative photo session concluded, a storm of cheers erupted as the pledge of loyalty to the Party Central Committee, headed by the great Comrade Kim Jong Un, was recited.

Comrade Kim Jong Un gave a heartfelt encouragement to the trustworthy guards and ardent warriors, filled with the unwavering will to achieve victory at any time and any combat mission assigned to them, saying, “We must make them tremble in fear at the mere sight of our comrades!”

Comrade Kim Jong Un congratulated the three snipers who had demonstrated their outstanding marksmanship and long-range precision sniping capabilities, and posed for individual commemorative photos.

Comrade Kim Jong Un left a meaningful and loving impression with the officers and soldiers of the sniper subunit, who are honing their deadly sniping skills amidst the fervor of intense combat training.

The soldiers of the sniper squad and the special operations force combatants, who have the unparalleled honor of receiving training and guidance from the great leader, have pledged a fiery oath to further strengthen their preparations as the core force of our army and the fierce tigers that dominate its ranks, thereby powerfully demonstrating the might and immortal reputation of the invincible Korean People’s Army.
