The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia has confirmed its readiness to participate as an observer to provide technical assistance to contribute to supporting the implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, leading to a solution to return to normalcy. According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia, the Chinese side has paid attention to the impact on the people and closely monitored the border situation. Madam Maly Socheata, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, made this statement at a press conference on the morning of August 22.
In particular, on August 21, His Excellency WANG Wenbin, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, expressed strong support for the implementation of the Consensus reached at the Putrajaya Summit between the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand, the GBC Special Meeting, and the meeting between the foreign ministers of China, Cambodia, and Thailand in Anning, China.
Effective implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the restoration of the situation in the Cambodian-Thailand border area to normalcy and the early normalization of bilateral relations. According to His Excellency Wang Winpin, “We will cooperate with Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and other ASEAN countries to strive to restore Cambodia-Thailand peace and peace and tranquility in the border areas of the two countries.”
